To mp3 or not to mp3? … a valid question. Recently, I read a very good article on this subject. It was an interview with Neil Young, a veteran musician, and I am going to insert the link for it here as my blog on this day. I wholeheartedly agree. As Musicians, most of us spend a lifetime in pursuit of excellence. To record a song, any song, takes considerable time and effort. The higher quality the recording, the more time, effort, and money will be spent to achieve that quality. To sell these pieces for 99c is completely unrealistic, given the hours spent in musical training, rehearsal, and accumulation of all attributes required to “get it together.” To hear them played back in WAV format, and be thrilled with them, only to listen again in mp3 and hear the incredible loss of quality, is very disappointing.
